Shelley Massey - First Vice President Lion Shelley was born and raised in Athens, Georgia. After graduating from the University of Georgia, she made the jump to big city of Atlanta to begin her professional career as a systems analyst/programmer. Her Florida island hopping adventure began with a six year stint on Anna Maria before moving to the island of Venice. She is currently enslaved to Direct Technologies, Inc. as a Manager of Programming. The Lions dedication to the community – through the Eye Clinic as well as many community based programs and projects - attracted Shelley to become involved. When not working on Lion Club projects, she can be found on the beach with a book or traveling to new and exciting places! |

Annette Goodsen - Second Vice President Lion Annette is a “Native Floridian”, born in Florida, but moved to Suburban Philadelphia when she was only three years old. She and her family lived there until they moved back to Florida in 1995. Annette and her second husband Manny have been married for 29 yrs. Annette has been working for Stephenson Eye Associates since 1996 and joined Venice Lions Club in October of last year. She was sponsored by our President Lion Beverly Flynn. |

Loretta Power - Secretary Loretta Power moved to Englewood, Florida in November 2004. She was born and raised in New York City and lived on Long Island for over thirty years. She retired as a commercial lending manager from J.P. Morgan Chase in 2003. Loretta became a Lion in 2006 and has been working at the Vision Center since 2007. She volunteers at the Lions eye clinic office half-day each week and works at the clinic monthly. She is also a Consolation Minister at St. Raphael's Roman Catholic Church and does some volunteer work at Our Mother's House. She is a member of the South County YMCA, attending aerobic aquatic and yoga classes. She has two sons, a daughter, four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. |

David W. Mattson - Treasurer (Administration) Lion David Mattson has been an active member of our Club since 1995. He lives in Venice with his wife Sue and family. David has been member of Scholarship and Finance and Advisory Committees for several years and continues to serve as Treasurer - Administration. Lion David lists reading and travel as his hobbies. |

Thomas J. McConnell - Treasurer (Foundation) Lion Tom is a retired accountant/controller. He has been a Lion since 1976 and is a Past President (1984-1985). He joined the Venice Lions in 2002. He chaired The Sharks Tooth Festival Committee and is a member of the Scholarship Committee, the Easter Egg Hunt and the Christmas Food Sale. He is a volunteer at the Venice Englewood Vision Center at the Health Venice Health Park and the monthly Vision and Hearing Clinic as is his wife Lynn. Lynn joined the Venice Lions in June of 2008. They have lived in Venice area for over 14 years and have six grand children. |

William "Bill" Kraft - Tail Twister Lion Bill transferred to Venice Lions club in 2006. Born in Somerset, Pennsylvania, and educated at the local high school Bill's first job was at the Acme Supermarkets where he advanced to the position of store manager. He left Acme Supermarkets in '72 and worked as a n auctioneer in Altoona area for the next 32 years. He became a Lion in 1976. Lion Bill, married to Lion Mary Lou (now deceased) for 30 years retired to Venice in 2005. Prior to his move to Venice, he has served in all club officer positions and as cabinet secretary in '83-'84 and was selected as the "Lion of the Year" in '84. Here in the Venice club, Bill works closely with the Venice Lions Little League team which we have been sponsoring for some 60 years and also runs the half pot at all meetings. He has one son, two grandsons and two great-grand-daughters. |

Edward Lynch - Lion Tamer Lion Ed transferred his Lions membership to our club in 1996. He is a retired Postmaster from Fort Lee, New Jersey. Lion Ed has served in many committees, is an active member of the eye clinic team, and is the chairman of the Peace Poster and Waterways Cleanup Committees. Lion Ed is also our safety officer. He was named Lion-of-the Year in 2003. He lists fishing, and golf as hobbies. |

Thomas Christensen - Director Lions Tom Christensen and his wife Rosemary moved to Venice about ten years ago from Albany ,N.Y. Lion Tom worked for the Federal Government (FBI) and New York State Government for thirty six years and retired as Director of Facilities Operations for NYS Office of General Services. Lion Tom has served as tail twister, and Secretary among many other positions in the club. Tom and Rosemary (now deceased) have six children and three grandchildren. |

John P. Bohan - Director John (Jack) was born in Portchester, New York and raised in Larchmont/Mamaroneck area. He attended the local high school and completed his formal education with a degree in History/English at the University of Minnesota (St. Paul). He served the country in the U.S. Navy (active and reserves) including a stint in Korea. Jack as been a Lion since 1974 when he was invited to join the Alexandria Lions Club, Virginia in District 24A. He served in that club for 15 years, and chaired numerous club committees. He joined the Venice Club in 1990 at the invitation of and sponsored by Lion Charles Mowery, (P.I.D.) and has been a very active member since. He held many positions in the club, including President, Secretary, District 35-I Hearing Committee V.P. and was the Visitation Chair for ten years. Lion Jack was awarded the Melvin Jones Fellowship in 2002.

Beverly Kruger - Director Beverly Joined Nokomis Lions Club in July 1987 when Lions International first started accepting women as members. When the Nokomis Club disbanded in 1989 she transferred to Venice Lions Club. Lion Beverly has been active in Club activities ever since. In those 24 years she has been honored as a Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow, received District Crusader Award in 2010 and received five International President's Certificates of Appreciation. Lion Kruger was among the few members who were instrumental in developing the then Venice /Nokomis and Englewood Lions Vision Program, and to this day she is very much active in the day-to-day running of the program, serving as the as the coordinator. Lion Kruger served as the secretary of the Venice club for many years, several times as a Director, and as the President for Lion year 2001-2002. At the district level she served for several years as MD-35 I Projects Chair, then became the Secretary, Second Vice President, First Vice President and President for the Lion year 2006-2007 of The Florida Foundation for the Blind Inc. For the past 10 years she has been serving as the Multiple District Projects Chair. |

| Ann Favreau - Membership Director Lion Ann Favreau has been involved in Lionism for over 30 years. She served as President of the Agawam, MA. Lioness Club and joined the Venice Lions Club in 2003. She is a Melvin Jones Fellow. Lion Ann is a retired educator, a published author, past President of the United Ostomy Association and currently serves as Secretary of the Coordination Committee of the International Ostomy Association. Lion Ann enjoys travel, writing, reading and the beach.
